STHDMI002A Product Page The NEATSwitch family has recently been enlarged by the introduction of the STHDMI002A, a highbandwidth differential digital video switch. It is able to support the industry proven Digital Visual Interface (DVI) and the latest High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) standard for digital consumer products. In addition to the data signal switch, the STHDMI002A includes the auxiliary signal switching for the Display Data Channel (DDC) and Hot Plug Detect (HPD) lines, eliminating the use of discrete switches and level shifters.

The STHDMI002A consists of two sets of 4 differential pairs of input channels (3 for data and 1 for clock) and one set of 4 differential channels on the output. Moreover, the device incorporates switches for DDC and HPD signals which are present on an HDMI interface. STHDMI002A is controlled by a single logic signal, allowing easy control of the switch through the TV software.

The combination of high bandwidth, low cross-talk and low off-isolation of the STHDMI002A provides a simple to- use, cost effective solution for a superior image quality by replacing redundant PHY (physical layer).

HDMI/DVI MUX switching in a TV with dual ports

The STHDM1002A is available in the lead-free TQFP48 package with a wide pitch of 0.5mm that allows easy PCB routing on a single-layer or double-layer Class2 or Class3 type PCB. The device pin-out also allows PCB layout without any vias that would achieve impedance characteristics and signal quality that conform to HDMI standards. STHDMI2002A benefits the end manufacturer in cost savings by employing a simple PCB and eliminating the constraint of using two HDMI/DVI receivers.
