6-Bit external memory card level translator

ST6G3238E Product Page Press Release Smaller and more powerful SD, Mini-SD, and MMC memory cards are becoming common fixtures in daily electronics gadgets. Low voltage CMOS level translators like the new ST6G3238E target applications which host card slots and are capable of card-detection upon card entry and write-protect features.

The ST6G3238E consists of 2 ports: A and B.
Port A connects with the microprocessor while
Port B interfaces directly to the external memory card slot
Controlled via a command line (CMD) and synchronized by the clock signal (CLK), the level translator is designed to support two-way asynchronous communication of up to 3+1 bits of bi-directional data interface between a 3.3V bus and a 2.5V or 1.8V bus, in a mixed 3.3V/2.5V and 3.3V/1.8V voltage supply configuration.
Additionally, the ST6G3238E contains integrated ESD protection circuits for up to ±2kV on port A and ±15kV on port B. An integrated 40Ohm series resistor is also provided on port B for adequate EMI noise reduction. These features are essential, especially in applications with direct connection to external connectors.
