Abstract
In this paper we present a method for finding good product codes for wireless ATM applications by shortening binary BCH codes.
The resulting optimized product codes have a large minimum distance as compared to the corresponding punctured state-64 convolutional codes.
We show that under certain conditions regarding the modulation technique employed in the physical layer, we can obtain good performances on the Rayleigh fading channel. |
