 VN450 TRIPLE HIGH-SIDE DRIVER FOR DOOR CONTROL Courtesy lights which switch on when the door is opened, mirror heating and side-mounted repeater blinkers are all important comfort and security factors in car doors. This means that three functions have to be served with activators of different power. For mirror heating, for example, 2A to 3A are necessary and short term up to 30W may be required. These three applications all require a low on resistance driver which, for safety reasons, must work in high side mode. ST's VN450 triple high side driver is an ideal solution to meet these requirements. Two 40m½ channels switch the mirror heating and the 10W exit light. The third 300m½ channel serves the side blinker. Short circuit protection, open load diagnosis and overload protection are all provided. The PowerSO20 package with copper base allows an optimal thermal connection to the circuit board and thereby ensures high power reserves. Should another partitioning be required or be more suitable, ST has a broad range of products ranging from one to four channel types.  |
